Grassroots Gardens WNY has grown for more than two decades because of the dedicated people who help us meet our mission. There are many ways to get involved with our organization, regardless of whether you have a green thumb. If you would like to join a garden or start one, please visit the Gardens page for more information.
Interested in volunteering? There are three ways to get involved with GGWNY as a volunteer:
1. If you want to volunteer in one of our member-gardens, we can help facilitate a connection to a garden in need of support. Our staff has limited availability during the growing season but we do welcome groups of volunteers for spring, summer, and fall clean-ups. All minors must be accompanied by adults who will stay onsite to supervise.
2. Did you know that almost all of our committees are open to the public? As part of our commitment to transparency and equity, we welcome public input on our operations and decisions. We are always looking for volunteers to join the following committees: Development, Events, Nominating, Strategic Planning, Finance, Gardeners' and Land Stewardship.
3. We are always looking for board members as we nominate for the Board of Directors annually. If you are not already involved with us, join a committee to test us out. We nominate in November and seat the following January. One of our board members would be happy to speak with you about board service.

Interested in our community task forces or public policy work?
Our community task forces are also open to the public. We are proud partners of the Local Food Action Plan in Niagara Falls, the Good Food Buffalo Coalition and are currently leading a policy push on vacant land reuse in Buffalo.
