History of the Workshop Series
When Urban Roots opened its doors in 2007 they knew then that educating the community on best practices in gardening was a must. They started providing classes on a variety of gardening topics for both the novice and experienced gardener. In 2010 we partnered with Urban Roots in an effort to reach the needs of the community gardeners in Buffalo. After many winters our classes and workshops were so well attended that space became an issue. Thankfully and right on que MAP built a space that would accommodate our need for a larger space to hold the classes. It seemed a no brainer that the 3 organizations collaborate together within their own members and the greater community we were all looking to help educate. Today topics and facilitators are all coordinated by Urban Roots, Grassroots Gardens and the Massachusetts Avenue Project. Our goal is to reach as many people in the community as we can to further their knowledge and understanding of various gardening and plant information.
