Volunteer Opportunities
Engage and Improve Your Community
We provide tools, organize events, and support the development of community gardens, but it’s the volunteers who make it all possible.

Find a fit for yourself among our upcoming opportunities displayed below.
-
Opportunities for Individuals
All it takes is one person to make a difference. We organize opportunities to maintain local gardens in our network (including activities like planting seeds, trimming plants, and general maintenance), and direct volunteers to gardens in need, ensuring every garden in our network receives the attention it deserves.
We also have non-gardening opportunities available, like helping with events and more!
-
Opportunities for Groups
We make a greater difference when we work together. We offer events and opportunities for everyone in your organization to support local community gardens.
Volunteering is an excellent group activity for churches, corporations, and students to learn, work together, and build better bonds between each other and the larger community.
-
Advocacy Opportunities
At our roots, Grassroots Gardens WNY exists to heal systemic harm and help create stronger, more connected and collaborative communities. And that takes more than just gardening.
To that end, we are looking for more volunteers to join our advocacy committees, and help us educate, engage, and equip our communities to create a better future, together.
Our current advocacy committees:
- Gardeners and Land Stewardship
- Land Trust and Garden for All Time
