In order to engage students in all stages of community gardening, Grassroots Gardens has developed the Seedling Stewards Program.
First, Grassroots Gardens will give a short presentation to your group of students on community gardens. Afterwards, youth will plant seeds with materials provided. Their job is to water and care for the seedlings until growing season (mid-late May). Once ready to be planted, the seedlings will be placed in community gardens across the city. If there is a garden close to the school, we can arrange a trip to plant them on site!
Contact us if your class or youth group would like to become Seedling Stewards.
