The students and teachers at Frank Sedita use the garden as a wonderful setting to learn about the natural world.
Students gather to discover insects living in the garden
They learn the differences between pests and beneficial insects
Helpful insects such as lady bugs are added to the garden
Favorite crops grown in the garden this year include beans, tomatoes, and sunflowers. The students harvest the sunflower seeds in the fall and save them over the winter. Every spring they plant their saved seeds in beds at the entrance to the school.
